• WORD OF LIFE LUTHERAN PRESCHOOL

Word of life Preschool, under the guidance of the Illinois Early Learning Standards, provides a program that involves each child in daily acitivities which allow them to gain experience in social, emotional, and cognitive skills, physical endurance and the foundation of strong values.  This is accomplished in a warm and loving Christian environment which focuses on the whole child.  Children are provided with a carefully planned atmosphere which is both stimulating and exciting.  The classroom provides materials and experiences which allow them to immerse themselves in their learning.  The curriculum ministers to the needs of each child and allows each child to grow and learn at his/her own developmental level.  The curriculum is based on units of study including a theme and bible story.  Learning centers in the classroom provide a variety of acitivities, including literacy and writing, math and science, art and music, sensory acitivties and dramatic play.  There is a balance between large and small group time as well as individual time to learn and explore.  Word of Life Preschool has excellent teacher to student ratios and spacious classrooms that allow children to explore and discover.  The preschool also has an indoor large motor room and a newly renovated playground to encourage children to be active and allow them the space to move and develop their gross motor skills. Overall, Word of Life Preschool recognizes that God has given us a very special opportinity to help children blossom in so many ways and learn to put God first as they travel on their own journey through life.
